There are many location online where you can read about and purchase many different makes and models of car seats. However, it can take a huge amount of time and effort and time to look through them all.
As a result of recently having to do my own search for a new car seat, I found the Britax Marathon 70 (the best value I could find for the money) for a great price at Amazon.com.
This seat has positive reviews almost everywhere you look and I've rarely seen a complaint.
The Britax Marathon 70 can be used either front or read facing and can accommodate children between 5 and 70 pounds. This car seat is designed to be comfortable for your baby/child and, at the same time, to be extremely safe. The low center of gravity for this car seat counteracts the forward rotation that most seats exhibit during a crash. The result of this, in the event of a crash, your child is more likely to be cupped in the seat and less likely to be jolted forward nearly as much.
This car seat comes in a variety of styles; enough to match pretty well anyone's taste. The styles include Onyx (shown above), Cowmooflage, Crimson, Allison, Blueprint, and Waverly. A few of the styles are shown below.
The Cowmooflage design is a fun one that might appeal to those looking for a slightly unique car seat.
The Blueprint style is a great option for any child, and hides stains very well.
If you're looking for the perfect car seat for a little girl, the Allison design is great. Not only is this an extremely safe model of car seat, but this design is very cute as well.
